Symptom Check:
- If depth and wireline (WL) values drop to 0 when stopped, it's likely that the Sermon settings in Warrior were changed.
Access Device Manager:
- On the Warrior computer, go to the Windows Start menu.
- Type Device Manager and open it.
Locate COM Ports:
- In Device Manager, navigate to Ports (COM & LPT).
- Make a note of the COM ports listed under com0com (e.g., COM4, COM7).
Verify Warrior Sermon Device Settings:
- In Warrior/Unifire’s Acquisition Window, go to Edit > Device Configuration > Sermon.
- If one Sermon deviceis listed:
- Ensure the COM port matches the higher com0com port noted earlier (e.g., COM7).
- If it’s set to COM1 (placeholder), change it to the higher com0com port (e.g., COM7).
- If multiple Sermon devicesare listed:
- Check each one and verify that none are set to unused or placeholder ports like COM1.
- If needed, create an additional Sermon device (up to a maximum of 3).
No Sermon Device?
- If no Sermon device is listed, follow the steps to add a Sermon device in Warrior.
Verify Sermon Device Settings:
- COM Port: Set to the higher com0com port (e.g., COM7).
- Baud Rate: 9600 (default).
- Type: Standard-Comma.
- Continuous: Checked (default).
- Repeat mS: 1000 (default).
Verify Dipole Warrior Plugin Settings:
- Open the Dipole Warrior Plugin (from Windows > DipoleWarrior Plugin).
- Ensure the COM port in the plugin matches the lower com0com port noted earlier (e.g., COM4).
Note: Incorrect COM port assignments can prevent accurate data acquisition. Always verify COM ports are set correctly to avoid issues with live data capture.
