After setting up the wells for your wellpad, follow these steps to prepare the tool string and shot plan for the upcoming stages:
1. Switch to the Stage Flow tab by selecting the icon on the left side of the bottom control panel.
2. Click the Shot Plan Editor button to open the Shot Plan window.
- If you've loaded a well file with shot depths already entered, they will be available for each stage and should just need verification.
3. With pre-loaded shot depths, suggested default tools will appear with depths populated. Enter any specific tool string details as needed.
4. On the right section of the Shot Plan editor window, click the Tool dropdown and select Edit Tools. This opens the Tool Builder window.
5. In the Tool Builder window, you can:
- Edit an existing tool’s specifications by selecting one of the default tools.
- Create a new tool string by adding guns and the plug.
6. On the left side of the Tool Builder window, enter values for:
- Gun offset, zone length, and number of shots for each gun.
- Press Next on the numeric keypad to quickly move to the next field.
7. Populate the fields for:
- Plug Name, Gun Name, Phasing, Shot Diameter, and Overshoot past the Plug Depth. These details will be used to generate shot sheets and post-job reports.
IMPORTANT: The tool will not save if any fields are left blank
8. After completing the entries, press Save, then Close to exit the Tool Builder window and return to the Shot Plan window.
9. You can now select a well and stage that has the associated tool string and view your tool string parameters, shot depths, and CCL depths.
