Prime WSI Setup

1. Connect Pumpdown Laptop to DipoleWellsite Network

To set up the data stream, connect the pumpdown laptop to the DipoleWellsite network using one of these methods:

  • Wireless:

    • Connect to DipoleWellsite Wi-Fi using password DipoleDigitalWellsite (ensure laptop is within range of the logger).
    • If out of range, plug in an additional access point near the pumpdown operator.
  • Wired:

    • Connect an Ethernet cable from the laptop to a spare port on the Edge Router (if working from inside the logger).

After connection:

  1. Set a Static IP on the Pumpdown Laptop:

    • Right-click the Wi-Fi/Ethernet icon > Open Network & Internet Settings > Change adapter options.
    • Right-click Ethernet > Properties.
    • Select Internet Protocol Version 4 > Properties.
    • Enter the following settings:
      • IP Address: 10.0.0.2
      • Subnet mask: 255.0.0.0
      • Default gateway: 10.0.0.1
      • Preferred DNS: 10.0.0.1
      • Alternate DNS: 8.8.8.8
    • Click OK/Apply.
  2. Disable Windows Updates (recommended):

    • Open the Services app from the Start menu.
    • Scroll to Windows Updates, right-click, select Properties.
    • Set Startup Type to Disabled.


2. Data Sender Configuration in PRIME WSI

To send data to ZipVision, set up Data Sender in PRIME WSI as follows:

  1. Open Data Sender:

    • In the main menu of PRIME WSI, open Data Sender to configure data transmission.
  2. Select Channels:

    • In Data Sender, select a job by pressing the dropdown (ˇ).
    • Click Select Channels in the main window, choose pressure and rate channels for ZipVision, then click OK and Next.
  3. Add New Connection:

    • Configure the connection by entering a name, choosing LAN/WLAN as the type, setting the IP to 10.0.0.2, and specifying Port 90.
    • Click OK to save the connection.
  4. Manage Connections:

    • View the connection in the main window.
    • You may Add new connections, modify the Channel list, Save settings for future use, or Export the channel list for reloading. 
  5. Adjust Settings:

    • Click Settingsand configure as follows:
      • Send date and time: Checked
      • Data separator: Comma
      • Decimal separator: Dot
      • Send only new data: Checked
  6. Start Transmission:

    • Click Start to begin sending data.
    • Use Stop or Pause as needed.

3. Configure Dipole Pump Plugin and Validate Data Stream

  1. Open Dipole Pump Plugin:

    • On the ZipVision computer, open Dipole Pump Plugin and check that Host IP is set to 10.0.0.2, Port 90 (these should match the output settings from pumpdown).
  2. Validate Data Stream:

    • Confirm that data is streaming by viewing the far-right table, which shows the values being received and their index.
  3. Assign Parameters:

    • Input the correct index numbernext to each desired pump parameter:
      • For example, if Index 1 corresponds to pressure, enter 1 beside the pump 1 pressure cell to link real-time values to the pump 1 pressure parameter.
