IDEAC Komodo V2.0 Installation

1. Extract Komodo Files:

  • Locate the komodo.zip file and unzip its contents into the C:\KomodoV2 directory (recommended).

2. Set Up Database File (Optional):

  • Before running Komodo, you can replace the default database with a custom one:
    • Place your modified database.db file in the C:\KomodoV2\db folder.
    • Important: If Komodo is already installed, stop the Komodo service before replacing the database file, then restart the service.

3. Run Installation Script:

  • After extracting files, run the installation script:
    • For Windows 10: Double-click komodoinstallw10.bat.
    • For Windows 7: Double-click komodoinstallw7.bat.
  • Admin Access Prompt: Click Yes to allow admin access.
  • The script will:
    • Stop, uninstall, reinstall, and start the Komodo service.
    • Recreate the firewall rule to allow incoming connections.
  • Once completed, Komodo should be running as a service with firewall permissions.

4. Open Komodo Webpage Client:

  • On the installation computer, open a browser and type 127.0.0.1 to access Komodo locally.
  • For remote access, use the computer’s IP address instead of 127.0.0.1.
  • Note: If the webpage doesn’t load immediately, Komodo may still be initializing. This can take up to 30 seconds per non-connected PLC.

Komodo Operation

When you type in the 127.0.0.1 into the URL bar of your chosen browser, you will be greeted with the Komodo main screen as pictured above.

1. Log In for Full Access:

  • In the browser client, log in as an admin:
    • Username: admin
    • Password: admin

2. Create a Dashboard:

  • Click Dashboard (next to Home) to open the Dashboard screen.
  • Enter a name for your dashboard in the input box.
  • Optionally, select a custom template to auto-generate monitors.
  • Click the green Create button to finalize.

3. Manage Monitors:

  • Select your dashboard to view its monitors in real-time.
  • Add a Monitor: Click Add Monitor.
  • Edit a Monitor: Use the Edit button to adjust code, units, or delete a monitor (admin access required).
  • Reorder Monitors: Click Reorder to change monitor positions by dragging and dropping.

4. Export Dashboard to Another Application:

  • Use Export to Port to integrate dashboard data with other applications (e.g., FracPro):
    • Choose an available port for export.
    • If a port is in use by another dashboard, use Clear to free it up.
    • If the desired port isn’t listed, add it via the Ports menu.

5. Additional Configuration Options:

  • Units: Customize units and conversions. Available units will appear in the monitor selection if they match the selected code.

  • Tags (Codes): Assign proper names and units to PLC tags. Use the Edit button to manage tags.

  • Ports: Add or edit ports to control where dashboards are exported.

  • Config: For advanced users, the Config screen allows direct edits to config.js. Ensure you restart the service after changes to apply them.

Safety Note: Avoid unnecessary changes in the Config screen, as incorrect values may stop Komodo from functioning. Always restart the service after saving configuration updates.
