Pumpdown Data Acquisition - Rolligon
Hardware Setup
Connect Hardware Components:
- USB to Serial Cable: Connect this to the pumpdown laptop.
- Gray Null Modem Cable: Connect one end to the USB to Serial cable.
- Black Startech Serial to Ethernet Adapter: Connect to the Null Modem cable and plug into power.
- Access Point:
- Connect one Ethernet cable from Startech to the LAN port on the power adapter.
- Connect another Ethernet cable from Access Point to the POE port on the power adapter.
- Position the Access Point facing the logger’s access point for optimal connectivity.
Check COM Port for USB to Serial Cable:
- Open Device Manager > Ports and locate the USB to Serial cable (usually labeled as USB Prolific).
- If COM port is not listed after plugging in, install the required drivers.
Pumpdown Laptop Configuration
Open DAQ Settings:
- Navigate to DAQ (top of screen) > Channel Setup.
Configure Serial Output:
- In Serial Output, select Choose an Output > Settings Button.
- Set Port to the COM number identified in Device Manager (Step 2).
- Configure other settings as follows:
- Baud Rate: 9600
- Parity: None
- Stop Bits: One
- Row Control: None
- Delimiter: Comma
- Press OK to save.
Select Channels:
- In Serial Output > Channels Button, choose channels for pressure and rate (e.g., DAS Pressure 1, DAS Rate 1, DAS Rate 2), then click OK.
- Press OK in the Source Setup window.
- Verify Blinking TX/RX Lights on the Startech Serial to Ethernet Adapter, indicating data transmission.
MaticAI/ZipVision Computer Setup
Verify Access Point Connection:
- Confirm the access point connection and hardware visibility.
- In a browser, go to 10.0.0.2.
- If connection fails: Open https://localhost:8043 and check Devices. You should see at least one logger access point as Connected.
- If needed, adopt or reposition the access point for better visibility.
Configure Dipole Pump Plugin:
- Open the Dipole Pump Plugin.
- Go to TCP IP Config(bottom left) and enter:
- Host IP: 10.0.0.2
- Port: 90
- Press Start Receiving and check for incoming values in text boxes.
Assign Values in Dipole Pump Plugin:
- With values incoming, a table in the bottom right should display Index | Value.
- If the table is not separated, enter a comma in the Division Character field (bottom right).
- Match each index numberto the correct field:
- Pressure (e.g., if Index 1): Enter 1 in the pressure field under Pump 1.
- Rate (e.g., if Index 2): Enter 2 in the rate field under Pump 1.
- Values for pressure and rate should now appear in MaticAI/ZipVision.
Safety Note: Ensure all connections are secure and drivers are correctly installedto avoid configuration issues. Confirm access point placement for optimal connectivity.
